PURPOSE: The Digital Instruction Specialist supports teachers in teaching with technology and delivering instruction in a traditional, blended and online learning environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing professional development and supporting the efficient and effective integration of digital tools for teaching and learning in the classroom.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide teacher/classroom support and training for efficient and effective integration of technology for teaching and learning in traditional, blendedand online learning environments
  • Design and implement training workshops on the LMS; demonstrate, modeland support multiple strategies for blended learning practices to teachers; model network practices on e-learning communities and personal learning communities through social media
  • Facilitate district professional development on leveraging technology to more effectively differentiate student learningwith a goal towards personalization
  • Communicate and collaborate among vertical and horizontal teacher teams, to identify digital instructional needs (logistical and curricular)and follow-up with research and recommendations
  • Assist and support all high stakes online testing: MCAS, ACCESS, MAP
  • Support educators in analyzing data and developing visualization techniques for data assessments, evidence of learning, etc.
  • Maintain and update educational technology inventory (digital resources and apps) used at LFDCS
  • Collect ongoing data related to LFDCS' progress with blended learning and teaching with technology(quantitative and qualitative).
  • Maintain data integrity and accuracy on academic systems and platforms (LMS, Google, Clever)
  • Review LMS to maintain minimum requirement for district course architecture and district lesson plans
  • Back up LMS resources and archive courses annually for teachers' reference
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional technology or related area. Individuals with certifications with Instructional Technology, Design, experience in K-12 settings are encouraged to apply
  • Experience with a Learning Management System as an administrator or instructor
  • Demonstrated ability to support a diverse group of teachers with varied technological skill levels
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and planning skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as independently on projects.
