    The Lancaster County Career & Technology Center has an anticipated vacancy for a Digital Design/Print Media Instructor for the 2022-2023 school year at the Brownstown Campus!

    Monday- Friday; approximately 7:40 am. - 3:20 p.m. during the school year (189 days per year)
    Salary: Starting at $54,806 - $56,606 if not a certified teacher in PA; Higher if certified

    The Digital Design/Print Media program prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to plan, prepare and execute commercial and industrial visual image and print products using mechanical, electronic and digital graphic and printing equipment. Students learn desktop publishing, layout, composition, presswork and bindery as well as photography, flexography, lithography, photoengraving and other graphic arts techniques. Emphasis on typographical layout and design using computer graphics, photo typesetting, camera and plate making, offset preparation and operation, paper cutting, ink and color preparation and dynamics and airbrush and screen-printing production. In addition, the instructor assists the students in job-seeking skills such as resume building, interviewing techniques and other skills. Instructors provide theoretical and hands-on instruction to students in activities and competencies designed to promote social, intellectual and employment growth and to meet graduation requirements for the participating school districts. The Instructor will be responsible for developing and conducting learning programs and associated materials for students with the ultimate goal of producing entry-skilled and employable students.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS/FUNCTIONS

    1. Instruction
    • Develop appropriate course materials and aids including total written curriculum, lesson plans, instruction sheets, visual aids, and other related materials
    • Manage equipment, tools, and other supplies needed to support established curriculum
    • Evaluate student progress and develop reports and other feedback materials/assessments
    • Design instruction and provide opportunities for students to develop safety practices, professionalism, positive work ethics, and occupational skills
    • Uses professional judgment to provide and maintain an educational environment conducive to learning
    2. Professional
    • Performs duties as prescribed in the PA School Code
    • Acts in concurrence with the PA Professional Code of Conduct
    3. Other Functions/Responsibilities

    • Ability to use computer technology for grading, attendance, e-mail, software applications, internet and other education activities as required by the Administration

    POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

    • At least 4 years’ experience in a graphics occupation
    • Ability to pass the Occupational Competency Assessment in Graphic Communications
    • Complete college level coursework to obtain and maintain a Career & Technical Teaching certificate.
    • Ability to obtain required clearances (Child Abuse, PA State Criminal, and FBI Clearances) - Instructions will be provided on this process

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalency

  • Able to use and maintain machinery and equipment specific to trade


  • SALARY:
    Emergency/ Intern Cert: $54,806 - $56,606; Vocational I: $59,365 - $62,520; Vocational II: $64,815 - $68,575
