Job description
HOURS:
The purpose of this position is to service and repair on-road and off-road heavy equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on all diesel vehicles, heavy equipment such as material handlers, loaders, excavators, forklifts, etc.
- Troubleshoot and repair all types of diesel engine machines
- Diagnose and repair heavy machinery (excavators, forklifts, skid steers)
- Repair, replace, recondition, dissemble, weld, and examine parts and engines
- Maintain inventory of tools and supplies
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager
- Comply with all company safety measures and government regulations
- Communicate with drivers and customers with a professional attitude
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years’ diesel mechanic experience
- Must have own tools
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) a plus
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (over 50 pounds)
- Squat and kneel
- Bend and twist as appropriate
- Sit/Stand for long periods at a time
