JOB SUMMARY:

The primary focus of this position is assisting customers with the design and selections for their new home (i.e. flooring, paint, cabinets, etc.), and completing data entry/paperwork to ensure that their new home is built to their specifications. The person in this position assists customers with any changes or questions that may arise after their initial selections. Additionally, Design Consultants will take part in the design of spec homes utilizing current product and design trends to create market ready homes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Meet with new homeowners to make all design selections for their home. This includes brick, siding, roofing, paint, carpet, appliances, fireplace options, flooring, cabinets, tile, etc. Design Consultants will have full access to the carefully curated Ball Homes product options inspired by the newest market design trends. Design Consultants are expected to confidently provide product and design knowledge/guidance to buyers. Specific training on Ball Homes products, processes, and design expectation will be provided. The person in the role is an essential part of helping our buyers to make their new house a home.

· Average appointment length is around three hours but is entirely dependent on the customer. During the appointment all design, construction, and pricing questions are to be addressed. At times there will be questions that need to be sent to other Ball Homes departments (Design, Pricing, Drafting, etc.) for clarification/confirmation. Most internal communication is done through e-mail. After responses are received, the customer is contacted for discussion

· After the selections paperwork is complete, it is sent to the buyers for approval. During this time, the buyer may have questions or request changes that need further design assistance. Once the buyer has given final approval an additional appointment will be scheduled for the buyer and their agent to return to the Design Studio to sign off on the final selections. The Design Consultant is available to the buyers and agents to answer any questions they may have during this appointment.

· After the selections appointment has been completed and the building process has begun in the field, the Design Consultant serves as the customer and field contact throughout construction until closing.

· When necessary, the Design Consultant will coordinate all communication and paperwork related to late changes and prepare contracts/paperwork from the design appointment.

-When needed, the Design Consultant will design and make all selections for spec homes including exterior and interior finishes. In collaboration with the design supervisor they will work to create a market ready home that will follow current market design trends while also appealing to a broad range of homebuyers.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

· High school diploma.

· Must have valid driver’s license.

· Must have excellent customer service skills as well as excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

· Ability to multitask, as well as having an exceptional memory.

· Must be detailed and organized.

· Be able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.

· Must be a team player and able to work without direction or supervision.

-Encouraged to have a strong interest or background in design.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 25 pounds.

· Frequently be able to bend, crawl, climb stairs, and reach above your head.

· Be able to constantly squat, kneel, stoop, and crouch.

· Must be able to sit for long periods of time while using a keyboard or writing manually.
