Senior Manager of Inventory Planning

Overview:

Dent Wizard, a leading provider of automotive reconditioning services, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager of Inventory Planning to join our team in St Louis, MO. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in inventory planning, a strong analytical background, and a proven track record of success in developing and implementing inventory planning strategies. The focus of this role will be on the key category, but the candidate will ultimately be responsible for optimizing all inventory.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement auto replenishment strategies for the key category across a two-step distribution system (~300 distributed trucks, 1 centralized warehouse) to optimize inventory levels, turns, and service levels
• Lead development & deployment of mathematical modeling & simulation capability to optimize global & truck level inventory policy (safety stock, cycle stock & service levels)
• Develop a strategic model of inventory allocation for the key category and create reporting to monitor performance
• Analyze sales trends, market conditions, and product demand to determine inventory levels for the key category and adjust strategies as needed
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technology, accounting, procurement and key field operations to ensure effective inventory control and optimize inventory levels for all categories
• Develop scorecards to communicate broader organization of performance and proactively identify opportunities and issues
• Manage truck and central warehouse replenishment and approve truck level inventory requests via establishment of rules and algorithms
• Drive the development and implementation of inventory control SOPs, including managing the cycle count process and annual year end inventory
• Member of the Keys business unit management team and accountable for overall P&L optimization in conjunction with VP of Keys

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or Data Science
• At least 5 years of experience in inventory planning, with a strong emphasis on data analysis
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in data analysis and interpretation and ability to manage, update and maintain large datasets
• Exceptional complex problem solving abilities
• Strong technical knowledge - understanding of setting up, using, maintaining statistical forecasting models / tools
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams
• Previous experience in retail or industrial distribution as a merchant, replenishment manager, etc.
• Ability to travel 1-2 days per month
