These sites are investing heavily in industry 4.0 state of the art, bespoke equipment, manufacturing automation and data architecture to accelerate new product introductions (and flawless execution).

The Data Engineering & Standards Lead will partner closely with diverse internal stakeholder groups, including Data Standards & Governance (DS&G), Commercial (GSC) Tech, and R&D Tech, to create CMC data and recipe standards (as well as implement the governance tools necessary to maintain those standards). The role will be accountable for the practical application and embedding of those standards within Clinical Supply Chain (CSC) facilities (partnering with local resources).

The role is hands-on, providing subject matter expertise across the Operational Technology (OT) data platforms to support delivery of the data backbone and the piping of structured data out of Clinical Supply Chain (CSC) facilities into data repositories for onward use by consumers

Key responsibilities (include):

  • Partner closely with diverse internal stakeholders (DS&G, GSC Tech, R&D Tech) creating CMC data and recipe standards
  • Collaborate across CMC to deploy machine master data management and enterprise recipe management tools to enable consistent, faster recipe deployments and technology transfers across CMC sites
  • Work closely with Operational Technology (OT) architecture specialists to build and maintain the CSC data infrastructure necessary to extract, consolidate and present high quality, rich data sets to consumers.
  • Work with sites, tech, and other business system owners to change ways of working and/or system configurations to improve reliability and robustness of data capture in support of strategic data pipelines, analytics products, and other cross business unit requirements
  • Ensure clinical CMC data requirements are mapped, documented and preserved through data blueprinting.
  • Ensure the flow of high-quality rich data sets from CSC facilities aligned to CMC standards to meet consumers needs
  • Lead reviews of data requirements, identify gaps and drive enhancement initiates across CSC working with local SME’s and business partners
  • Implement the governance necessary to consistently apply and maintain the CMC standards within CSC facilities partnering with local resources
  • Serve as a member of the platform technology review council to help ensure cross R&D/GSC data opportunities have a clear value proposition and are appropriately supported within CSC

Location: The successful applicant can be based at the Upper Merion or Upper Providence sites (in the USA) or at the Ware R&D site (in the UK).

Basic Qualifications / Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mathematical, statistical, engineering, scientific, or other CMC related discipline.
  • Relevant experience (eg; understanding of CMC development, tech transfer, and manufacturing activities including data, and/or automation projects or teams).
  • Sound understanding of OT architecture and cloud hosting

Closing date for applications: Monday 27th of February 2023 (COB).
