We are proud to be recognised as a disability-confident employer. Our customers come from all walks of life, and so do we. We hire great people regardless of their background or disability, not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. We will continue championing inclusivity while investing in our local communities to create a better, more sustainable world for everyone.

We are incredibly proud to have been recognised by The Times for being one of the Top 50 Employers for Women.

An opportunity to play your part. At British Gas, our customers and our colleagues are our priority. Our mission is to provide energy services and solutions to our customers Sustainably. You’ll be working as a Customer Resolution Agent in our classic collections team within our British Gas Residential Energy Division, supporting customers enquiries and concerns at this particularly challenging time. Showing empathy and understanding to every customer, we are here to help and find the best solutions, offering support and guidance to customers to help them in this most difficult of times.

We welcome applications from anyone with energy, enthusiasm and an absolute passion for delivering amazing customer service. A curious nature is needed to help customers open up about their personal circumstances, to allow us to find the best solution for them by fact finding and matching to the best solution.

Personal resilience is a must for what can be a rewarding role, knowing you have made a real difference.

A good internet connection is important too for when you are working from home along with a personal quiet workspace, with suitable desk and chair.

Our operating hours are Monday – Friday, 8am – 6pm and we have various shifts you will be aligned to once you start, and all are 5 days per week (37 hrs)

Our people are the beating heart of our business. We are incredibly proud of our commitment to being FlexFirst. FlexFirst working is not the same as home working permanently. We believe personal connection and collaboration are critical to your and our success. So, everyone should have the right balance of on-site and home working to stay connected to the business, do their best work as a team, and manage their wellbeing. We’re not asking everyone to do a fixed number of days. We’re asking everyone to work with their managers and teams to get the balance right

In addition, after listening to what matters most to them, we have tailored our well-being & benefits package around our employees.

  • £25,867 salary plus an annual bonus of up to 16%!
  • Up to £580 Employee Energy Allowance
  • Pension scheme
  • Electric car scheme
  • 33 days holiday allowance and the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days
  • Excellent range of flexible benefits, including technology vouchers & travel insurance

We are committed to creating a cleaner and greener future. And we’re making big changes to help us get there. That means cutting customers' emissions and our own to reach net zero. And because our people are the beating heart of our business, we will continue to champion inclusivity, develop future skills and invest in our local communities to create a better world for everyone. As part of our reforestation project with WeForest, for every new employee that joins our team, we plant trees in underprivileged areas in Tanzania to offer farming and wildlife economy opportunities for locals.
