Renaissance Montessori School is a Catholic Montessori environment in Nokesville, Virginia, located just 45 minutes outside Washington DC. We serve children from ages 16 months - 12 years in our Toddler, Primary, and Elementary programs on a beautiful 10 acre campus. MAINTENANCE AND CUSTODIAL MANAGER

The Maintenance Manager maintains and oversees the RMS grounds, buildings and equipment to ensure that the workspace is clean, safe and functional.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grounds

• Mowing and trimming of all grass areas as needed
• Trimming shrubs and tree limbs as needed
• Pick up and remove trash and debris prior to mowing
• Snow removal in winter, to include shoveling sidewalks and spreading ice melt and coordination of plowing parking lots
• Pest control as needed

Custodial

• Daily collection and removal of trash
• Daily cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms
• Weekly vacuuming carpets and mopping floors
• Occasional carpet shampooing and stain removal
• Occasional set up and clean up of school events
• Maintains supplies inventory

General Maintenance

• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include minor plumbing and electrical, replacing light bulbs and fixtures, carpentry work, installation of decor and fixtures, repair of furniture and materials
• Work with the Head of School to coordinate routine inspections and large and/or emergency repairs with outside vendors
• Regularly inspect facilities to identify potential problems and respond
• Prepare facilities for changing weather conditions

Security

• Ensure the building is secure after renters and staff vacate
• Ensure animals are secure each evening

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Related experience preferred.

HOURS:

Regular hours of Monday - Friday 11 - 7 PM. Buildings and animals should be checked anytime between 6:00 and 7:00 PM each evening. Weekend hours may be necessary based on renter usage or emergency situations.

COMPENSATION:

Commensurate with experience

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
