CULTIVATION & Processing TECHNICIAN

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cultivation Technician is responsible for executing the cultivation and processing activities for the site. The Cultivation Technician will work closely with their Supervisor to maintain the health and participate in the processing and manicuring of the cannabis plants. Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the growing and processing areas and will assist in monitoring and documenting plant growth and harvests. This work is performed in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as the state and local regulations required to ensure a safe and clean working environment and condition of the cultivation center.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for executing assigned tasks, projects and expectations of the Cultivation Manager
  • Plant trimming, room assessments, plant care and clean-up of immature & flowering grow rooms
  • Ensuring plant traceability through the Metrc system per quality policies
  • Responsible for completing any work assigned to them during their scheduled shift, as well as information sharing with the management teams
  • Operate and maintain processing equipment with direction from the Cultivation Manager
  • Execute drying, curing, flower buck and trim and packaging equipment per schedule
  • Performing plant and tag assessments and reporting issues to the cultivation team
  • Maintaining compliant conditions and/or correcting non-compliant conditions with a continuous improvement attitude
  • Track performance of rooms and present to management the room health and progress, noting any outliners of concerns to collaborate on
  • Follow all safety requirements and execute cleaning procedures daily and during changeovers
  • Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers
  • Ensure required trainings are up to date per company policies and regulations
  • May at times, train seasonal or new employees on defined tasks
  • Execute the cultivation procedures and nutrient protocols keeping accurate records
  • Follow company cultivation and processing methods
  • Harvest with the ‘all hands on deck’ attitude
  • Comply to all Good Cultivation Practices “GCP” and “Good Manufacturing Processes” or “GMP” requirements for each room on the compound
  • Responsible for manicuring cannabis flowers.
  • Execute bucking and trimming per harvest schedule
  • Follow all safety requirements and execute cleaning procedures daily and during changeovers
  • Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers
  • Ensure required trainings are up to date per company policies and regulations
  • May at times, train seasonal employees on defined tasks
  • Follow company processing methods

Other duties as assigned by manager.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Receives general supervision and direction from the Cultivation Manager. Direction consists of clarification of facility policies, priorities, and goals.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Plant science courses a plus, but not required
  • Laboratory courses a plus, but not required

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in horticulture / indoor horticulture operation experience preferred
  • Experience in laboratory setting is preferred

SKILLS:

  • Must have ability to develop and foster strong relationships throughout the levels of the organization
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Positive, can do attitude.
  • Strong work ethic with the willingness to learn.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time (i.e. trimming plants and regular inventory)
  • Must be precise, accurate and well organized
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities
  • Must be able to perform in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to operate in computer systems, personal computers, and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Office, etc)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older to apply
  • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Must pass a detailed background screening and physical
  • Have availability to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to walk, sit, stand, bend, lift and move continually during working hours
  • Regular work occurs in tight spaces on and off ladders and on the floor
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
