About the role

The position is part of the U.S. Professional and Veterinary Affairs Field Veterinarian team that is responsible for relationship building and influence with veterinary customers that results in endorsement for and active recommendation of Hill's products. It reports to the Senior Manager, Veterinary Affairs The role has a primary focus on engagement and education strategy for corporate specialty hospitals, select corporate vet, and vet ecom customers developing and overseeing the execution of strategies that position Hill's as the most valuable partner, providing scientific evidence-based advancements in the field of nutrition, engaging to support veterinary specialists in practice, and demonstrating commitment to transforming the lives of people and their pets. Additionally, this role will collaborate closely with the Pet Superstore Omni Vet business account managers on professional engagement and education for veterinary clinics within pet superstores. The position will also drive engagement with medical leadership at a headquarter level with key corporate customers, and represent the professional and veterinary voice during joint business planning and meetings with key corporate customers.


What you will do

• Key Corporate Vet Customers: Develops strategy and plans to drive sales, volume, share and brand recommended (used) most often with corporate specialty hospitals, vet ecom pureplay customers, and targeted (non-specialty) corporate customer groups Understands the business and competitive landscape and monitors emerging corporate customers and trends Analyzes their business and develops scorecards to identify opportunities and assess effectiveness of strategy Provides team support for Pet Superstore Omni Vet business account managers Provides PVA presence and veterinary perspective at leadership meetings with key corporate vet customers • Strengthen partnerships with Corporate Vet medical leadership Develops and maintains a network of trusting relationships with influential Key Thought Leaders (KTLs) within corporate customer groups Develops corporate KTLs as advocates through events (e.g. Hill’s Transforming Lives Tours), staff feeding, sampling, educational events, and other programs Develops strategy to engage corporate practice house officers as future endorsers Facilitates on the ground execution through: Integration with the Senior Manager, Veterinary Affairs , Regional Veterinary Affairs Managers, and Professional Consulting Veterinarian (PCV) team, setting clear priorities for KTL/hospital engagement and ensuring consistent messaging by the PCVs Attends selected conferences and customer meetings; engages key contacts, delivers presentations and works the Hill’s exhibit booth, building relationships

• Commercial Collaboration: Maintains working relationships with internal commercial teams - finance, marketing, insights, customer development Collaborates with Associate Director, Vet Corporate Accounts to achieve shared business goals Works cross-functionally with Business Account Managers in the Customer Development Organization to align objectives and to implement the commercial grid with targeted corporate customers Participates in meetings and other activities of the Strategic Customer Development Team • Partners, as a member of the Professional Veterinary Affairs team, with Marketing and Customer Development to provide customer insights and technical support for Hill’s products and programs

• Professional Engagement, Key Thought Leader Strategy • Informs Hill’s Key Thought Leader strategy Aligns the focus for corporate customer engagement with the broader KTL strategy Shares professional insights Collaborates to share resources and tools that are applicable to the broader KTL audience

  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards


Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate Professional degree in veterinary medicine (DVM, VMD or equivalent, with license in at least one state)
  • At least 6 years experience in corporate (animal health industry), academic or clinical practice
  • This is a field position based out of your home office near a major commercial airport
  • Excellent skills in influence and negotiation
  • Commercial interest/acumen
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team player
  • Ability to make sound decisions under conditions of uncertainty or complexity
  • Excellent business presentation skills, strong in verbal and written communication skills
  • Digital proficiency
  • Proficient with Google digital business tools


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree MBA or degree in business related field
  • Customer development/sales experience


Salary Range $112,000 - $157,000 USD
Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive offers a
performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
