David Alan is looking for a high energy Culinary Captain (Chef Manager) to work in one of our onsite restaurants preparing delicious food for our amazing customers.

The Culinary Captain works from approx. 6am to 2pm, and helps craft the culinary direction of the account alongside our Cook/Utility Servers. Attention to detail is a must to be successful in this position.

West Hartford

Farmington

Cheshire

Enfield

Danbury

Meriden


Chef Manager Basics:

The Chef Manager has the primary responsibility of overseeing and supervising production of food for the unit/restaurant. Works closely with the Multi Unit Leader to promote the company's culture, mission and core values. Must act as a team leader and motivator for cafe staff, thus strong interpersonal skills and being a clear communicator are essential. Responsible for supervising, training, evaluating, coaching and counseling associates to comply with company standards. Please see attached file for full job description.

Qualifications:

  • Prior food production supervisory/management experience.
  • Assist in development, training and mentoring of staff and act as a resource to them.
  • Coach, counsel and assist in conducting performance evaluations of the production team.
  • Culinary degree and/or training preferred.
  • Excellent volume cooking skills, presentation skills and palette.
  • Strong leadership and management skills working with a variety of associates of different skill levels and varied backgrounds.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and good listening skills.
  • Ability to handle many tasks at once and effectiveness in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Thoroughness, attention to details, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Good decision-making and ability to proactively make changes as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with associates, management, clients and vendors if necessary.
