Corporate Actions Operations Supervisor
As a Corporate Actions Operations Supervisor you’ll be responsible for the effective direction and supervision of a team of employees within the Income Team in the Corporate Actions division. You will ensure the smooth, effective operation of the division, providing the team with constructive feedback and ensures standards of quality and controls are met. Develops staff members through training and performance management.
On a daily basis, the Income Supervisor could be required to interact with BBH global offices, Global Tax Service, BBH’s subcustodian bank network, US and International Depositories. The Supervisor ensures all US and Non-Us Income is received and paid to BBH clients timely and accurately. Maintains and achieves an integrated Business Plan for the business unit. Maintains a culture of results oriented and continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assist management in ensuring proper product delivery, proper escalation and resolution of high exposure items, maintaining the proper balance of cost, control and client service (3Cs), and maintaining proper standards and controls.
  • Review E&O situations and look for corrective action.
  • Communicate professionally and constructively to effectively resolve issues in order to minimize risk and exposure.
  • Implement operational control policies and procedures and participate in audit review of Corporate Actions practices.
  • Understand competencies required for successful job performance and use knowledge to coach and develop team members as well as to identify training needs.
  • Energize and inspire team – generating excitement, a sense of pride, and a drive to excel.
  • Consistently provide employees with constructive and timely feedback, both positive and negative.
  • Ensure team is properly aligned with the Business Plan for the unit.
  • Assign responsibility effectively based on expertise and strengths of team members.
  • Enhance the productivity of the unit though workflow improvements and system enhancements.
  • Effectively utilize and operate all tools and technology appropriate to the role.
  • Multi-task efficiently within time constraints and with available resources
  • Contribute to Division/ Firm process improvement activities through improvement of STP (straight through processing)
  • Provide feedback on resource requirements and allocation.
  • Ensure daily output standards, both quality and timeliness, are met.
  • Ensure adherence to all established policies, procedures and controls.
  • Assist in the development and production of management reporting.
  • Repair and resolve complex discrepancies that impact client servicing in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in new business/due diligence client presentations and meetings.
  • Ensure timely response to internal and external requests.
  • Assess and provide solutions for requirements and risks of new business/products/services/asset classes as it relates to CA processing.
  • Review client feedback, RFPs, and inquiries for trends. Utilize this information to determine product gaps, train clients, propose solutions and reduce overall inquiry volume.
Desired Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of industry experience, with 1-year of supervisory experience.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with others.
  • An aptitude for analytical and problem resolution.
  • Self-Starter, proactive, and objective oriented.
  • Enthusiastic leadership skills and ability to engage others.
  • Effectively utilize core custody and BBH Operations systems to support client service deliverables.
  • Computer literate - MS Suite of products - Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
