Job Description


The Continuous Improvement Leader will drive implementation of the WireCo Operational Excellence System across multiple pillars as well as deploy TPM, Lean and Six Sigma methodologies for plant personnel development. The Plant Continuous Improvement Leader will build and implement detailed project plans, influence organizational change and partner with company leaders to drive out wastes and create more velocity for the business.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Train and coach teams on the WireCo Business System to develop problem solving talent within the organization. Topics include but are not limited to lean principles, value stream mapping, process mapping, Kaizen, error-proofing, daily management boards, material flow, standard work, SMED, 5S etc.
  • Manage and support cross functional strategic projects and events aligned to Operations Site Leadership annual priorities.
  • Lead and collaborate with cross functional teams on continuous improvement projects, Value-Stream Mapping, Kaizen and RCCM events to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
  • Assist in the design and development of a KPI dashboard for site leaders.
  • Create standard work processes inside core plant functions of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Scheduling & Planning.
  • Key contributor in improvements and developments tied to maintenance work order systems.
  • Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations.
  • Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • Implement the WireCo Operational Excellence System.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Operations or Business preferred or five years equivalent, relevant work experience.
  • A Lean Practitioner with 3+ years of experience and a ‘hands-on’ track record of implementing successful Lean/Toyota Production System (TPS) fundamentals including elements such as: Value stream mapping, visual management, 5S, standard work, daily management / metric boards, stand-up meetings, and project funnel coordination.
  • Expertise in problem-solving using a formal methodology/program/process.
  • Hands-on experience in managing cross-functional projects or changes across multiple levels of the business.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and positively influence leadership and all levels of the organization.
  • A well-rounded problem solver who can look site-wide to integrate and streamline systems for optimal benefit.
  • Passion for driving improvement and leading change.
  • Proven track record for developing, training, and coaching teams.
  • Great communicator, including solid written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Able to drive continuous improvement in both non-operational and operational areas, including connecting the cross-functional resources to remove waste along the extended value steams.
