Job Summary
Directs the continuous improvement strategies in a manufacturing setting.
Job Duties
  • Advises management in developing processes, policies and procedures to further the organization's continuous improvement initiative
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees
  • Responsible and accountable for the planning and execution of impactful process changes meant to result in cost or waste reduction, productivity improvement, customer satisfaction and profitability increases
  • Facilitate Kaizen events to identify and implement process changes
  • Lead and foster the continuous improvement roadmap for the manufacturing team
  • Leverage continuous improvement tools to drive continued operational improvements and ensure the engagement of the team through strong communication and clear direction
  • Lead and manage individual project teams and deployment plans across various functional levels in all plants
  • Maintain partnerships with business units after projects transition to operational procedures; ensure solutions are maintained by the process owners; implement health checks to ensure the work processes consistently and effectively deliver business results
  • Continuously improve the company’s internal efficiency and effectiveness standard by identifying opportunities, coaching improvement events and supporting the company’s objectives
  • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Education
  • Has extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments
  • Lead and direct the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management and termination
  • Contribute to strategic planning, direction and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management
  • Establish departmental policies, practices and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization
  • Typically require a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience, including some prior management experience
