Join our team and help us deliver cutting-edge virtual training and simulation environments to the men and women of the U.S. Marine Corps as a VSiF Configuration Analyst! This role is unique in the fact that you can employ your skills in a combination of configuration management (50%) and technical writing (50%) capabilities. If you enjoy systems development, reporting, and document creation, this role is for you! You will also have the ability to work remotely one day per week.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides CM for development and maintenance programs
• Establishes and maintains configuration item control procedures
• Ensures compliance with all configuration management processes, policies and procedures
• Maintains status accounting records to ensure that current and historical configuration of products can be accurately
  determined throughout the product life cycle
• Produces reports indicating status of configuration items and communicate to management
• Assists developers with assigned configuration items
• Works with automated CM solutions to maintain development and production environments.
• Reads and provides feedback on system drawings and schematics from a configuration perspective
• Researches, writes, edits, and proofreads technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures, and specifications
• Ensures technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications, and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style
• Maintains documentation in content or document management systems
• Provides input to schedules to track document delivery milestones
• Analyzes and understands software requirements based on customer defined business needs
• Installs and maintains software and system components
• Implements and maintains software version control
• Recommends improvements to software components and system architecture

• This job requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and three years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Intermediate level of proficiency to work on assignments using MS Office Suite, web publishing, and technical writing
• The primary or most necessary skills required for this job are organizational skills. Other important skills include verbal and written communication skills and computer skills

• Configuration management: A deep understanding of configuration management practices and experience implementing them in a military or government environment; should be able to establish and maintain configuration management plans and processes that are compliant with relevant regulations and standards
• Technical writing: Excellent writing skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner; should be able to produce high-quality documentation that is accurate, well-organized, and easy to understand
• Knowledge of Marine Corps C2 and Command Post systems: Strong understanding of the systems and processes used by the Marine Corps, including knowledge of the technology and equipment used by Marines in the field, as well as the procedures and protocols they follow
