Position Summary


The Compensation Analyst will develop and oversee compensation structures to optimize hiring and maximize employee retention by analyzing employee compensation packages and position responsibilities. The ideal candidate will maintain job requirements and descriptions and evaluate job positions to ensure the company is competitive in the areas of salaries and employee benefits.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
  • Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
  • Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt, and appropriate salary ranges.
  • Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence
  • Manage and set company salary ranges to ensure market competitiveness to attract and retain talent.
  • Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
  • Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
  • Evaluates and implements job analysis instruments and materials.
  • Lead annual companywide merit and bonus process to include communication, incorporating input and processing final recommendations
  • Plans and communicates preferred methods and best practices for hiring, training, compensating, and evaluating employees.
  • Maintain HRIS data base and HR dashboard, including monthly and annual reporting and metrics
  • Collaborate with HR team on company initiatives
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Position Requirements

Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required.

Experience Required:

2-4 years of experience as a compensation analyst required.

Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Knowledge of human resource laws, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to maintain highly confidential information
Analytical thinking and mathematical skills
Strong attention to detail and a self-starter

Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications needed:

Proficient in spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel) and word processing (Microsoft Word).
Certifications, such as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
Pharmaceutical industry knowledge is a plus
