Coach: Head Girl Soccer - Riverside High School


This position starts August 14, 2023.


Although the official fall season doesn't start until 8/14/2023, there will be various activities, planning and interactions which will take place prior to the season as part of preparation.


Start Date
: August 14, 2023 Riverside High School seeks a highly qualified individual to serve as the Head Girls Soccer Coach. This coach will be the Head Coach of the program, although in the 2023-2024 school year the team will be competing at a sub-varsity level.


Riverside High School:
Riverside will be the newest comprehensive high school in the West Linn-Wilsonville School District that will open in the Fall of 2023. We are a school of choice for all students within the district and will open with 9th and 10th grades. We will be a 3A OSAA Athletic Program and begin playing primarily at the sub-varsity (JV or JVII) level with plans to build into varsity programs. Riverside High School will be located at the current site of Athey Creek Middle School.


A successful candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Previous Head Coaching experience preferred.
  • High ethical and professional standards.
  • A thorough knowledge of soccer, skill development, and coaching techniques.
  • The presence to be a role model for student athletes and the public face of the program.
  • A commitment to the importance of academic excellence and achievement for all student-athletes in the program.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead young athletes.
  • A highly tuned ability to communicate effectively to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Skill in organization, time management, and public relations.
  • Employ good judgment in a variety of situations including emergencies. The Riverside Head Girls Soccer.


Coach will be responsible for the following:

  • Recruit student-athletes into the Girls Soccer program.
  • Develop and implement an off-season program for athletics.
  • Advocate for multi-sport athletes
  • Provide regular communication with parents/families.
  • Regularly track the academic process of all student athletes in the program and facilitate necessary supports to ensure their academic eligibility.
  • Work effectively and collaborate with other athletic programs to ensure off season/summer opportunities.
  • Cooperate with other school-sponsored sports and encourage athletes to compete in other programs.
  • Hold all student athletes and coaching staff to high expectations.
  • Help develop the youth program below 9th grade level.
  • Work with local media as needed and establish strong working relationships with community support groups.


Please note: To comply with Governor Kate Brown’s Executive Order, all staff, substitutes and volunteers in K-12 schools will be required to be fully vaccinated by October 18, 2021. Upon hire we will need to collect a copy of your COVID-19 vaccination card or evidence of a qualifying medical or religious exception from the mandate.
