Job Summary and Qualifications

This position acts as a liaison between internal and external referral sources, and acute inpatient rehab operations. The Clinical Rehabilitation Specialist is responsible for establishing relationships with case managers, physicians, payors, and other referral sources. The Clinical Rehabilitation Specialist will ensure appropriate patient placement through clinical screenings and assessments in collaboration with both hospital Case Management and the Rehab Medical Director.

What qualifications you will need:

• Licensed Professional in a clinical health care specialty (RN, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Therapist). Current FL licensure or FL approved compact license.

• American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS

• Current state licensure in clinical practice area or eligible for state license transfer.
• Graduate of an accredited school in clinical specialty.
• Minimum 2 years recent clinical care experience.
• Professional appearance and complies with dress code policy.
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills within the facility and public.
• Demonstrates ability to be flexible, organized and functions well under stressful situations.
• Participates in weekend rotation schedule to ensure continuous access by referral sources to rehab services for evaluation and admission to program 7 days a week.
• Computer and keyboarding skills (25 wpm minimum).
• Organization and time management skills.

• Continuous focus on excellence in work environment.
• Complies with all regulatory requirements including all State, Federal and Joint Commission regulations.
• Ensures confidentiality.
• Works at developing and maintaining strong relationships with physicians, departments and staff within the facility and community.

• Represents the facility in a positive and professional manner.
• Ability to work with others to ensure quality patient care.
