Job Description


Purpose of Position:

Assistant Director MIQ will provide on-site coordination of outpatient CDI staff to ensure continuous review and clinical documentation support for ambulatory care providers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform audits to review the accuracy and efficiency of the recommendations of the outpatient CDI.
  • Liaison with Ambulatory Care Providers and Central Office representatives who focus on CRG documentation and reimbursement.
  • Support the denial responses in the HIM Department.
  • Support inpatient CDI team as needed with clinical reviews.
  • Have working knowledge of the HCC Collaborate system used to abstract and engage with providers.
  • Review all relevant reports provided by HHC Collaborate system and H+H Central Office.
  • Follow up as needed with non-compliant providers to ensure that they update the recommended clinical documentation.
  • Supervise the CDI who facilitates the clinical review and provider engagement services.
  • Coordinate system activities with provider engagement team to develop physician education and documentation training.
  • Performs all other duties assigned by Supervisor and/or designee.

Minimum Qualifications


1.Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse(RN) issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED); and Bachelor of Science inNursing degree from an accredited college or university; and four (4) years of acute care experience;or
2.Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) issuedby the NYSED; and two (2) years of experience, as described in “1” above; or
3.Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA)issued by the NYSED; and two (2) years of experience, as described in “1” above; or
4.Foreign Medical Graduate; and, two (2) years of medical records review or utilization and case management experience; or
5.Successful completion of education that leads to a medical degree; and two (2) years of experience,as described in “4” above.
