Clinic Physician – Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine/Family Practice (FULL-TIME)

It is a multi-specialty medical practice consisting of a team of highly trained board-certified physicians, physical therapists, and massage therapists with multiple offices in the greater Tampa area. The Clinic Physician functions as one of the primary medical providers for Bay Area Injury Rehab Specialists. They are responsible for initiating patient care which includes: patient history and physicals, evaluation and treatment of a patient, and complete medical care for the patient.

Will work in our Tampa (Carrollwood) office as well as for 1-2 days in our Zephyrhills office.

Reportability
This position will report directly to the Medical Director and work collaboratively with their respective clinical specialists.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Provide care for auto accident and personal injury patients
  • Practice using sound medical judgment and adhere to all ethical considerations of the practice of medicine; know limitations and seek consult when advisable; keep abreast of current technologies and industry standards
  • Perform comprehensive physical/orthopedic examination, and compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs.
  • Provide services by generally aacceptedstandards of medical practice
  • Develop a plan of treatment/care for the patient that also includes education and follow-up visits
  • Perform routine medical duties (complete medical notes, review laboratory results) in ean fficient and well-organized manner.
  • Collaborate with Bay Area Injury Rehab Specialists and external healthcare providers as necessary to make appropriate medical decisions
  • Perform routine medical administrative duties in an efficient, well-organized manner
  • Participate in various team and provider meetings
  • Provide consultation and education to patients and/or parents and staff to increase the quality of patient care.
  • Provide consultation and education to patients to increase the quality of patient care
  • Provide guidance and assistance to medical assistants
  • Follow all internal policies and procedures; be accountable for the completion of all operational tasks according to departmental guidelines to ensure appropriate clinical processing/documentation
  • Participate in any deposition/testimony as necessary related to the care provided
  • Perform other duties determined as necessary by the Medical Director

Qualifications
  • Medical Doctor (MD or DO)
  • Must be board certified in family medicine, emergency medicine, or internal medicine
  • Must hold an active Florida license before start
  • No present or pending malpractice suits
  • Have a current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing
  • Bilingual (Spanish / English) is a plus, but not a requirement
