Bison Ridge Construction, LLC is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent with 5+ years’ experience as a project manager/superintendent for land development projects. Our projects are currently located in Northern Colorado, the Denver Metro area and southern Wyoming. Applicants should have a thorough understanding of land development projects from the pre-con meeting to the final acceptance walk-through. This field-based position will work closely with the entire project team including clients, engineers, estimators/project managers, subcontractors and project foremen. Experience with any of the following is a plus: overlot grading; overexcavation; installing underground utilities; concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk; street prep; asphalt paving; landscape/irrigation; dry utility coordination. Applicant should understand and be able to perform all duties of a Field Superintendent.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee subcontractors and project foremen to ensure project is constructed according to the approved plans, and within the project schedule and budget
  • Maintain project schedule and ensure updates and progress reports are being completed
  • Schedule testing and inspections as required to maintain workflow
  • Administrative tasks including daily reports, subcontract management, quantity reporting and tracking as required, electronic time sheet approvals, equipment logs, change orders, accounting, and uploading progress photographs
  • Review all project documents, plans and contracts to ensure construction is completed according to specifications
  • Provide leadership and direction to project foremen while emphasizing safety, quality and production
  • Attend construction progress meetings and scheduling meetings
  • Conduct daily meetings with crews to review schedule, production goals, and safety and get feedback from employees.
  • Ensure all employees comply with company safety procedures. Immediately correct and document any unsafe conditions
  • Train and motivate employees
  • Ensure all field personnel are using proper PPE and fall protection equipment
  • Assist with developing a strong workforce through recruiting, hiring and training
  • Maintain consistent performance to meet company goals, safety audits and company policies and procedures including training, orientation, discipline, etc.
  • Quality control/assurance
  • May operate heavy equipment and assist with labor when needed
  • Availability to work occasional weekends
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 and basic First Aid training
  • Able to adapt to various work disciplines, contract types and clients
  • Able to read and understand plans and specifications
  • Able to read and properly interpret survey grade stakes
  • Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum or other project management software a plus
  • Able to supervise the work of others and clearly communicate instructions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Windows & Mac OS; MS Excel, Word, & Project; operation and estimating systems; project controls systems, Dropbox

Physical Requirements

Must be physically fit and able to perform job duties including frequent use of hands, arms, legs and whole body; long periods of balance, standing or sitting; frequent walking, climbing, bending and/or lifting objects in excess of 50 pounds. Must be able to work in all weather conditions including very hot, cold, and wet conditions.

Salary range $85,000 - $110,000 depending on experience.
