Job description
The Circuit Actions Administrator will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Monitor and troubleshoot telecommunications circuits, coordinating outage resolutions with multiple distant end sites
- Document all outages and resolution in the TCATS database
- Coordinates and performs trunk/circuit testing and monitoring to ascertain compliance with specified parameters
- Performs telecommunications quality checks (QCs), circuit reliability and trend analysis of circuits, circuit installation, modification, and deactivation support.
- Performs configuration and operation, troubleshooting, fault isolation, corrective and preventive maintenance actions necessary to repair, restore systems, and support restoration of circuits and other communications equipment.
- Maintains circuit documentation to include but not limited to; drafting Telecommunications service requests (TSR) to start, change or discontinue circuits
- Creates and update circuit diagrams
- Reviews daily authorized service interruption message traffic and coordinates circuit outages with customers
- Provides circuit information and support to the Node Site coordinator
- Utilize procedures and processes to perform operations, maintenance and logistics actions for all communications equipment
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with the customer leadership (Squadron Commanders, Detachment Commanders, Contract Officer Representatives [CORs], other military or civil service leadership).
- Performs additional duties as assigned
Required Qualification:
- B.S. Degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience or H.S. Diploma/GED and 6-8 years of relevant experience
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. In order to obtain a security clearance, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Experience in trunk/circuit testing and monitoring with the ability to efficiently and accurately review, interpret, and act upon message traffic to protect communication availability and routings.
- Demonstrated understanding of modern telecommunications networks architecture and circuits
- Good communication skills are mandatory
- Ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with government customers and other contractors
Desired Qualifications:
- An active SECRET Clearance.
- Experience with the Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN)
- Experience coordinating telecommunications projects involving installations, configuration changes, upgrades, etc.
- Experience configuring cryptographic COMSEC devices, and experience handling and utilizing the associated keying materials.
- Knowledge of DISA policy and directives, I.E. DISA Circular 310-70-1.
