Job Summary: The Child Life Specialist for the inpatient general pediatrics unit provides developmental and psychosocial support for pediatric patients and families. Assesses children's developmental and coping needs and provides preparation, age appropriate diversion and emotional support to minimize distress associated with hospitalization and/or medical encounters. Collaborates as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development, Psychology or related field required. Must have completed a child life internship under the direct supervision of a Certified Child Life Specialist. Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) credential required or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree preferred.

Work Days:

Monday-Friday with rotation weekends.
