Gilbertsville Farmhouse is a resort-style wedding venue specializing in weekend weddings located in Central NY (45 minutes from Cooperstown, NY, and 25 minutes from Oneonta, NY).

We are looking for a professional CHEF to work as a 3rd lead in our commercial kitchen, alongside our Executive Chef and Sous Chef. CHEF will work with the culinary team to ensure that our kitchen runs effectively and efficiently. CHEF must be an expert in ensuring food quality and maintaining kitchen equipment.

Full time schedule from May 1st - November 30th. Weekends are REQUIRED. Flexible hours begin off-season.

Other duties include: Ensure that all dishes are cooked properly and presented in an aesthetically pleasing way; Oversee food preparation; Monitor kitchen equipment quality; Assist in determining food and supply orders, and inventory control; Learn all aspects of kitchen to step into any role as needed, like prep, plating, cooking, dishwashing, etc.; Need to take direction from Executive Chef and Sous Chef and prioritize what needs to be done;

Skills: Professional appearance, well groomed and well spoken as this position may interact with clients and guests; Self-driven; Motivated; Cheerful and positive outlook are essential in our environment; Organization; Time Management; Attention to detail; Ability to work under extreme pressure and ability to keep composure; Ability to communicate in fast moving environment; Ability to consistently make good food, follow recipes without variation, and maintain quality even in a busy kitchen.

SUMMARY
Prepares food to order according to our recipes, procedures, quality expectations and speed levels with a consistent, composed, positive and professional manner.

Food Handler Certification Preferred.

Hourly, based on experience and position.

Must have own transportation.

Must have positive and pleasant disposition, and work well under pressure.
