Catastrophe Modeling Analyst Senior or Lead

As a senior or lead catastrophe modeling analyst on the Catastrophe Modeling team, you'll prepare business-specific analyses using mathematical concepts, reinsurance terms, and catastrophe modeling data (covering hurricanes, wildfires, winter storms, and severe convective storms) You'll identify trends and prepare recommendations for business solutions. You'll also be responsible for the quality and quantity of sound decisions around business processes. Additionally you'll lead projects and independently work with more than one business group and top stakeholders. In this role, you'll manipulate large data sets, understand database structure, query and extracting data, perform analysis, and provide recommendations. Remote work allowed.

Must-have qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field of study and a minimum of three year analytical work experience.
  • In lieu of a quantitative degree, a bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of five years of analytical work experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of six years of analytical work experience.

Preferred skills

  • Familiarity with geospatial tools and geocoding software such as SpatialKey, ArcGIS, or Tableau
  • Familiarity with reinsurance terminology and/or catastrophe modeling software such as AIR/Verisk, RMS, KCC, CoreLogic, Impact Forecasting
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL and Excel, familiarity with automation, data analysis and presentation.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, be adaptive to change, and learn quickly
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Office with demonstrated skills in Excel – including the ability to create, manipulate and formulate spreadsheets

Compensation

  • $68,100 -$109,900/year depending on position level and experience
  • Gainshare bonus up to 30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
