About us

Canyon Adult Family Home is a small business in SW Portland, OR 97225. We offer long term care to the elderly population within our two Adult Foster Care Homes . We promote collaborative and positive interaction with our residents, resident's families, medical professionals and resident activities providers. Our goal is to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated individuals on our team who strive to provide the highest standard of care possible to our residents .

This job will be rewarding to caregivers who enjoy a clean, serene and family oriented work environment and strive to make a positive impact into the life of elderly.

Competitive compensation $20-$23/ hr based on performance and experience (at least one year of Caregiving). We offer: part time or full time schedules and would do whatever is possible to work with your availability, but some weekend availability is required.

Swing shifts available from 2pm to 9 pm Mon to Friday in conjunction with one or two weekend full shifts (7am- 8pm)

As a second priority possible some morning shifts needed (7am-2pm)

Responsibilities

• Medication Administration and documentation
• Assist residents with all range of activities of daily living including : Mobility, Eating, Dressing, Bathing, Cognition management Toileting
• Help residents with physical therapy exercises
• Plan and prepare meals
• Perform light housekeeping duties
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion and promote positive interaction.
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Skills

• Some experience as a caregiver is preferred but would train the right person
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary recommendations
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful, positive and compassionate
• Good time management skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong ethics
• Physical fitness
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Having a clean criminal background
• Willing to complete training and fulfill education requirements per DHS rules pertaining to Adult Foster Homes in Oregon including: First aid and CPR, Mandatory Dementia Training

Caregivers and visitors are required to wear a mask and we do temperature screening for caregivers and visitors.
