Camp Koda is a Day Camp located at the Fercho and Schlossman YMCAs in Fargo. Camp Koda at the Y provides a fun and unique experience each week for our childcare & community campers. Youth are given the opportunity to discover new interests, meet new friends, explore nature, enhance self-esteem, and be physically active.

Join the adventure by working as a Day Camp Counselor at the Y this summer! Our Day Camp Counselors work with children between the ages of 6 and 11, actively participating in activities such as swimming, arts & crafts, nature walks, field trips, music, science experiments, sports, cultural exploration, and more. We also take a trip to YMCA Camp Cormorant to experience the traditional camping atmosphere, try out the ropes course, water activities, horseback riding, and more!

Youth Day Camp Counselor:

• Responsible for the supervision and safety of youth ages 6-11 years old
• Assists with all camp programs and actively participates in all camp activities (e.g. swimming, nature walks, field trips, etc.)
• Helps campers adjust to camp, introducing them to new friends
• Serve as a mentor and a role model to the youth

Male Day Camp Counselors will be required to enter male locker rooms.

Shifts:

Camp Koda is open Monday-Friday. This is a seasonal/summer position. Must be able to work Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm. No nights or weekends! You'll also have the week of July 4th completely off!

• Week 1: June 5-9 (STEM & LEGO)
• Week 2: June 12-16 (Arts & Crafts)
• Week 3: June 19-June 23 (Sports of All Sorts)
• Week 4: June 26-June 30 (Music, Melodies, and Drama)
• Week 5: July 3-7 NO CAMP - OFF
• Week 6: July 10-14 (Harry Potter/Nintendo/Pokémon)
• Week 7: July 17-21 (Disney & Marvel)
• Week 8: July 24-28 (Around the World)
• Week 9: July 31-August 4 (On the Farm)
• Week 10: August 7-11 (Wet & Wild)
• Week 11: August 14-18 (STEM & LEGO)

Pay & Benefits:

• $13.00/hour
• All employees receive a free YMCA membership! Please see our website for additional Employee Benefits details: Full Time YMCA Employees (30+ hours/week), Part Time Employees (15 - 29 hours/week) and Casual Employees (1 - 14 hours/week).

Qualifications:

• At least 16 years old
• 6 months of experience working with youth
• Must be comfortable driving a "people mover" (12-passenger vehicle)
