Job Description
Albemarle is seeking an CAD Mechanical Piping Designer with a minimum of 8 years’ experience and some Document Management experience. The position is embedded within the Capital Projects Group located at Albemarle’s Charlotte office. Responsibilities will be to support he Design software in the North American region. Keep the drawings organized in Adept System and support site and capital project with support as needed. The document management support will be keeping CAD files up to date with company standard. Will support and train designers in the North American region.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain regional/ site CAD specifications and standards.
- Work with Site and Capital Project teams to provide with correct/ updated CAD specifications and standards.
- Support with maintaining drawing document system (Adept).
- Support the drawing file organization at sites for the implementation of Adept.
- Move files to new folder structure, rename files as required, and updated drawings to make new files names.
- Provide IT support on CAD and Adept software for regional/ site areas.
- Willingness to learn new software and skill as needed to complete tasks.
Work Experience Requirements
- Manage drafting standards and design spec experience.
- Knowledge of software: Bentley, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks.
- Prior construction design support and field experience is an asset.
- Experience with Process and Material Handling Equipment and Layout development.
- Construction package design, including equipment location plans, plot plans, piping design and equipment design.
- Document Control System experience is a plus.
- Motivated, with ability to set priorities and meet goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Be a team player with strong people skills and self-motivated to complete task and manage your time as required.
- Bilingual (Spanish is a plus)
Education / Qualification Requirements
- Associate degree with 6 years of design experience OR technical training in CAD software with 8 years of design experience.
