Our stores are located in the nation's most prestigious hotels and resorts, operated by such well-known brands as Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Sheraton, Westin, to name a few. The central operations for our stores, including the merchandising team, are located in our corporate headquarters in Miami, Florida.

Due to the significant growth in our business, we are currently hiring a Buyer who will oversee multiple categories with an emphasis on beverages, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic. You will review proposals, negotiate prices, select the best suppliers, analyze trends, follow up with placed orders, verify delivery, approve payments, and maintain necessary records.

Reporting into the VP of Core Categories the Buyer will:

• Have responsibility for the management of a National Beverages, by meeting financial targets, inventory levels, sales and markdown budgets, product turns, and overall company targets.
• Monitor industry trends, evaluate competition and current market performance and conduct market visits and attend industry shows as required.
• Establish and maintain reorderable assortments and plan-o-grams by market.
• Develop and execute new product/assortment and marketing promotional sales driving ideas by market.
• Develop positive professional relationships with vendors and field team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience/qualifications for the Buyer opportunity:

• Must have experience within purchasing, buying and marketing promotions of beverages or grocery items.
• Ability to work independently and desire to seek new opportunities for the category.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or merchandising or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to travel to market and to stores up to 25% of the time.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of merchandise negotiations.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook - including pivot tables and VLookup
• Proficient in merchandise financial planning and purchasing systems.
• Strong understanding of trend forecasting, retail math, analysis and performance reporting.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
