Business Analyst Job Description

About the Role: The business analyst’s role with United Refrigeration is a full-time position operating out of URI’s corporate HQ in North East Philadelphia. BA’s work closely with the Business Unit Management Team to help maximize rebate & marketing programs as well forecast demand and profit margins. An ideal candidate for business unit analyst with URI is a self-starter, that is capable of moving a project through various stages under the guidance of the business unit managers.

The ideal BA candidate possesses the initiative necessary to identify areas for improvement in existing reporting, and opportunities to implement new analysis that generates improved insight. The ideal candidate will be interested in growing with this role and once fully familiarized with the business will be empowered to develop and execute process improvements across the enterprise.

Core Responsibilities of Business Analyst:

· Work collaboratively with business unit leaders improve internal product and sales reporting

· Responsible for reporting & tracking vendor credits, rebates and special COOP usage

· The BA will serve as the point of contact for field specialists in coordination of various vendor related COOP

· The BA works in unison with the Unit Managers & purchasing to ensure that data hierarchy is optimized

· Identify and highlight local and regional sales variations not apparent in high level reporting

· Aid in identification of potential changes in competitive conditions

· Assist business unit and finance team with vendor rebate tracking

· Incorporate various sales analysis & forecasting models into replenishment strategies and tactics

· Report on product life cycle to ensure profitability and ROI of areas of responsibility

· Report on and make recommendations for improvement of rebate tracking & margin predictions by vendor

· Evaluate and track multiple vendor metrics including on time delivery, fill rate, product consistency

· As needed specialized reporting

Prior Experience / Qualifications:

· B.A. in business analytics, data analytics, or related desired

· Business Intelligence / Data Warehouse management prior exposure

· Advanced proficiency in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Experience with data warehouse queries including Brio & SQ
