Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Bin Coordinator manages raw materials and consumables bins. The Bin Coordinator will keep track of and confirm appropriate approval of quantity adjustments and new parts needed on the production floor. The Bin Coordinator will also be responsible for communicating with department managers to understand need changes on the production floor. This responsibility includes bin management for inter-site materials. Bin Coordinator will assist with resolving bin issues such as uneven turns and defective parts.

Job Status: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30AM – 4:00PM

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Collaborates with Purchasing and Vendors to align bin sizing requirements.
  • Responsible for multiple VMI bin audits throughout the month to support Purchasing in vendor management.
  • Ensures vendors are executing replenishments with daily audits and reporting issues to Purchasing.
  • Conducts assessment of inconsistent bin consumption in terms of velocity, as well as bin set depletion, including:
    • Establish if excessive consumption is a production or quality issue and report to Purchasing for further action.
    • Coordinate with production and purchasing to understand why bins kits are depleted unevenly.
    • Develop corrective action based on analysis to reduce the occurrence of incomplete bin consumption.
  • Reviews exceptions in bin replenishment to evaluate and establish proper bin sizes.
  • Responsible for confirmation and finalization of bin update and creation through maintenance of the bin values master spreadsheet.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding and administration of inter-site bin management.
  • Obtains approval from managers and supervisors on changes on the production floor
  • Compiles weekly and monthly reports for reference.
  • Performs monthly audits of all El Cajon 2-bin parts.
  • Communicates with Inventory Control Specialist on updates and changes.
  • Uses weekly PSR, NPD and weekly collaboration with Purchasing for quantity and required changes; proactively assess needs and changes.
  • Assists new department bin owners in learning the process and routine.
  • Ensures departmental posted bin information, such as bin delivery schedules, are present and up to date.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education and Experience: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED). One year of inventory or Bin Management related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
