Job Summary

Billing Specialist is a position within the Accounting Department and functions as a key member of the Billing team. The position requires developing an expertise in all aspects of billing for assigned customer groups and/or assigned revenue types and will include investigating and resolving billing issues. This position requires a highly detailed candidate to ensure that accurate and complete billings are taking place in a timely manner. In addition to Billing responsibilities this position performs accounting functions, including but not limited to, journal entry preparation and posting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Generates customer invoices and credit memos in an accurate and timely manner.
• Researches, investigates, and resolves internal billing issues and external customer billing inquiries.
• Reviews invoices to identify errors before invoice delivery
• Seeks continuous improvements in both productivity and in billing processes.
• Develops and maintains a relationship with internal clients (other Hogan personnel) specific to the sales and credit teams.
• Assists in monthly close process, preparing journal entries for posting to the general ledger.
• Updates accounting records and software systems for additions, disposals, and assigned location movements within the equipment fleet.
• Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Other duties as required

Requirements

• Associates Degree or Equivalent work experience
• Strong organizational skills, attentive to detail, accurate and efficient
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Office 365
• Intermediate Excel skills a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Self-motivated with willingness to grow and develop
