Florence’s first Brew Pub will be opening a Brewery with a restaurant as its second location in beautiful Murrells Inlet, SC on Hwy 17 Business. Southern Hops Brewing Co. has a decade of history in South Carolina with over 1.3 M annual sales. Bartender Job Description
We are looking for engaging and experienced Bartenders to provide attentive and friendly service to our patrons. You must have extensive knowledge of craft beer, wine, and liquor, and know how to mix a variety of cocktails. We expect our bartenders to engage with our customers, while always being aware of how much people are drinking and looking for signs that someone has had too much, as well as preventing underage drinking. You will also be responsible for balancing the cash register, taking inventory of stock, and replenishing stock items. The culture at Southern Hops is all about being friendly and creating a sense of community, in a laid back yet professional, fun atmosphere.
Job Responsibilities
- Greeting customers enthusiastically explaining daily food and drink specials
- Helping patrons select food and beverages by product knowledge and suggestive selling
- Being knowledgeable of craft beer in general, especially our house brews, as well as the brewing process
- Mix drinks using a range of ingredients
- Making orders for servers and their guest a priority as well as bar guests
- Check identification to verify legal age requirements for all customers
- Monitor all patrons for alcohol intake to appropriate levels
- Assist in ensuring patrons have a safe ride home, calling a taxi or Uber when appropriate
- Preparing the bar area for guests prior to opening by maintaining a well-stocked bar with an adequate supply of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, and other accessories
- Organize the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory
- Prepare fruit garnishes for drinks
- Keep bar area clean, safe and organized
- Doing any running side-work
- Closing down the bar and completing any closing side-work
- Ability to keep a cash drawer and closing out your shift accurately
- Transmitting accurate food orders to the kitchen
- Delivering food to guests and checking back to ensure guest satisfaction
- Ensuring customer service is always top priority in every situation
- Adhering to the Employee Handbook and Training Manual
- Adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol control policies
- Reporting to the FOH (Front of House) Manager
- Staying busy if there is any downtime
