Job Summary

AbbyBank is currently looking to fill the role of Bank Teller at our Abbotsford office. This position is primarily responsible to support our relationship banking culture by providing exceptional customer service to our banking customers, assisting them with various financial transactions and product information to best identify customer needs.

Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities:

  • Builds relationships through daily contact with customers and coworkers in person and by telephone extending a courteous greeting and by providing accurate and timely customer service. Maintain pleasant and professional attitude.
  • Proficiently complete all essential teller duties, following established policies and procedures which includes, but is not limited to, cashing checks, accepting deposits and withdrawals, handling loan payments, processing savings withdrawals within established guidelines to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Promotes bank products and services by identifying customer needs and suggesting appropriate products and services to solidify and enhance customer account relationships.
  • Stays current on applicable banking regulations and security procedures and practices, while complying with regulatory requirements.
  • May require driving and working at other bank offices for training purposes, emergencies, staff coverage, etc. utilizing personal vehicle.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Superior customer service and cash handling experience required.
  • Positive attitude and a sincere interest to serve others.
  • Ability to deal sensitively with highly confidential information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent listening skills with the ability to identify customer needs.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented with a mind for numbers.
  • Ability to represent the bank in a professional and positive manner.
  • Basic computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Mathematical skills must include basic arithmetic of addition and subtraction, copying figures, counting and recording.
