We are seeking a talented Auto-Chemistry Lab Tech to join our laboratory team in Flagstaff, Arizona. Under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor the Auto-Chemistry Tech will be involved in technical, high complexity laboratory operations. Duties include but are not limited to: specimen preparations or extraction, equipment operation, specimen loading, instrument maintenance/troubleshooting, and analytical review.

The schedule for this role is a rotating schedule:
Morning: 4:30 am to 3:30pm
Swing Morning: 9:00 am to 6:00pm
Swing night: 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Night: 2:00pm to about 1:00 am.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
  • Assist in laboratory confirmatory analysis of biological fluids for pharmaceutical compounds and drugs of abuse
  • Operates and maintains various instrumentation including but not limited to: GC/MS and LC/MS/MS
  • Assist in instrument calibration, QC review, and initial analytical review
  • Troubleshoots instrumentation and assay issues
  • Prepare reagents and buffers as needed
  • Assists with maintaining an adequate inventory of laboratory supplies
  • Prepare samples for gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS-MS) as necessary
  • Responsible for all record keeping associated with specimen preparation, including following chain of custody handling guidelines and storage requirements
  • Conducts safe work practices according to safety protocols, PPE requirements and decontamination procedures
  • Responsible to maintain all safeguards as it pertains to Protected health information (PHI)
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in a science field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Pre-med (Biomed), Forensics & Toxicology), required
  • Related experience preferred, but not required
