The Opportunity

Are you looking for a career which is rewarding, at the cutting edge of project development and where you can really make a difference? Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting projects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a ~£20bn nuclear new build project in Suffolk which has just obtained planning approval and is seeking financing from HMG and investors, with a view to start construction in 2023. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

We have a fantastic opportunity for several Assistant Project Managers to join our Project Management team tasked with supporting the successful construction of Sizewell C.

Our teams are set up to work flexibly. If you’re able to travel to the office to collaborate with your team and stakeholders when required, you can be based anywhere in the UK. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.

Typically, this role will require 2 days in the office per week.

The Role

You’ll support our existing and growing team of Project Managers within our Nuclear Island (NI) Programme.

These Project Managers are dedicated to a group of systems, buildings and contracts within the NI Programme, and depending on your background, you’ll work in either utilities, auxiliaries or primary & secondary circuits.

Within one of these scopes, you’ll support activities associated with the delivery of engineering contracts and securing resources that meet business and technical requirements, ensuring they’re delivered safely, as well as on time and budget.

The Skills

You’ll have experience in project management in a construction capacity, with a mechanical or electrical background.

Ideally, you’ll have worked on a major construction project before in a complex, highly regulated environment, such as nuclear, rail, oil & gas, etc.

Experience of the pre-tender/ tender stages of procuring contracts would be beneficial.

You’ll need to be highly- organised and a great communicator, with experience dealing with internal and external stakeholders.

If the above sounds like you, then we’d love to hear from you!
