General Summary: Under the direction of the Pool Manager, the Assistant Pool Manager(s) shall be responsible for the supervision and control of all pool personnel. In the absence of the Pool Manager, the Assistant Pool Manager(s) will lead the supervision and control of all pool personnel along with the safety and well-being of Members and their Guests using the pool facility. They shall assume management responsibility for the repair, maintenance and general condition of the swimming pool, baby pool, playground operations and their related facilities and services. This position must also possess the ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain excellent service standards with members and their guests. They must have excellent listening skills and an eagerness to provide excellent service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee and ensure the accuracy of logging names of Members and their Guests upon entrance to the pool.
• Maintain continuous surveillance of people in swimming pool along with the lifeguards tasked to ensure safety of such patrons.
• Supervise lifeguards to ensure they are enforcing safety protocols.
• Spot hazards or potential hazards and take measures to prevent accidents.
• Control and report unruly behavior and evict individuals not adhering to behavior protocols.
• Perform rescues in the event of drowning or swimming accidents.
• Perform first aid and CPR according to the demands of adverse situations.
• Perform pool chemical checks to ensure safety and hygiene.
• Maintain accurate records of pool use and chemical levels.
• Ensure that all pool equipment is stored safely and that any lost items are kept in a safe place.
• Answers phones at the pool office and relays messages to appropriate person(s).
• Provide "Hands-on" leadership of the Swim Program

• Direct and lead all pool programs, providing the needed expertise and leadership on a daily basis

• Manage and supervise all swim operations.
• As needed, may assist in the formulation of operating policies and procedures

• Works to develop a cohesive and cooperative effort among all affected departments
• Adheres to all federal, state and local laws regarding health, safety and employment.
• Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Must have passed official Red Cross First Aid and Lifesaving courses and may be expected to have passed certain first aid and swimming
• Must be a Certified Pool Operator through Douglas County, NE or able to obtain a CPO prior to May 15
• Must be an excellent swimmer with ample amount of physical
• Must have working knowledge of oxygen equipment and other lifesaving apparatus introduced in lifesaving

Working Conditions:

Work is performed outside and at times can be in extreme heat. Protection from sun and elements is responsibility of individual. Must be capable of performing lifeguard duties, i.e. lifting persons etc.. Will often be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.
