The Assistant Chief Financial Officer (ACFO) has responsibility for assisting in and learning the processes for planning, organizing, and directing the financial services, information systems, and fiscal management to enable the successful attainment of the hospital’s operational and strategic goals and initiatives in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with the overall financial operations of the acute-care facility including accounting, budgetary, audits, tax and other financial planning activities within the hospital organization; including management of respective department heads.
  • Works with system management to develop and implement policies and procedures, short- and long-range goals, objectives and plans.
  • Provides financial leadership to hospital managers, directors and officers that will enroll support, create ownership of goals, and encourage active participate in decisions that impact the hospital in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Assists the Chief Financial Officer to ensure the hospital meets necessary financial regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Assists the Chief Financial Officer in contributing financial expertise in the planning of new services that generate additional sources of profitable revenue.
  • Assists the Chief Financial Officer in managing costs by continually seeking data that will identify opportunities and take action to eliminate non-value costs in conjunction with the hospital's Chief Executive Officer and Chief Nursing Officer.
  • Participates in the hospital's monthly operation reviews as well as participating in corporate office meetings as deemed necessary by the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field from an accredited institution. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years financial/accounting progressive experience in a healthcare environment; for-profit experience

SALARY: Will likely pay $150K-160k/yr, dependent on experience and education. There is also a 20% ICP as the ACFO. Relocation assistance is also available. This is a career path to the CFO role with a CFO mentor in place. Great career opportunity!
