Job Description
The Applications Engineer provides implementation, sustainment and upgrades as needed to support Windows-based applications in a virtual environment. This position will also provide ongoing technical and customer support to the user community of these applications.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Application support and sustainment
- Application installation
- Application vulnerability scan evaluation
- Application networking
- DISA Application STIG experience
- ASP.Net experience
- Windows networking
- Windows SA (backup)
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree of Information Systems, or other related technical discipline is required
- 8+ years of experience supporting Windows-based applications
- Experience with Windows Server, DISA STIGs, and Vulnerability scans
- Experience with Web Technologies: IIS, ASP .Net
- Experience with Operating Systems: Windows Server
- Experience with Directories: Active Directory
- Experience with Virtualization: VMWare, AWS
- Familiarity with the following software: Microsoft SQL Server, VMware vSphere/ESXi, Apache Subversion
- Understanding of the following concepts:
- Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS)
- o Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
- o Domain Name System (DNS)
- o IP networking
- o Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- o Backups
- Networking experience
Certifications
- CompTIA Security+ CE or higher
Security Clearance
- Requires DoD Security Clearance level of Secret. May be able to start work with Interim Secret security clearance.
Other (Travel, Work Environment, DoD 8570 Requirements, Administrative Notes, etc.)
- Remote / telework is acceptable for most performance, but when working on SIPRNet applications employee must work in a DISA secure facility, ideally the headquarters facility located at Fort Meade, MD.
- Travel requirement is not anticipated
