Canine Rehabilitation Center and Cat Sanctuary is an animal shelter, rehabilitation center, and behavior training center. We are a 501 (c) 3 organization.

We currently have several roles within our dog staff and are looking for qualified candidates to fill the following roles.

• Animal Caretaker - Entry Level
• Enrichment - Some dog experience required
• Trainers - Dog training experience required
• Training and Enrichment - This position requires experience handling very challenging dogs including behavior cases, knowledge and experience in dog training, ability to properly read behavior, superior dog handling skills, shelter experience required

Each role has a different pay scale. Pay is determined based on experience and skillset.

We have 3 schedules we are looking to fill. All 3 schedules require either a Saturday or a Sunday working. We are looking for those interested in 30 hours to 40 hours a week.

The Animal Caretaker is an entry-level position which provides support to CRCCS shelter dogs and sleepover dogs. The Animal Caretaker strives to improve the quality of life for our dogs by preparing food and medications, setting up rooms, cleaning the facility, and walking dogs. Applicants should have some prior experience with working with dogs.

Essential Duties:

The Animal Caretaker position is very physical, requiring employee to stand, walk, bend, lift, and squat for many hours a day. Our dogs are provided with many outings each day, and those outings can be in very hot or cold weather. Applicants should be agreeable to working in a variety of weather conditions.

Facilities

• Clean and sanitize dog enclosures daily, and prepares enclosures for incoming dogs.
• Observe animal behavior to detect indications of possible illness, injury or disease.
• Prepares daily meals for all of the sanctuary and boarding dogs.
• Monitors levels of food and medications.
• Ensures the public areas of the shelter are clean and presentable.
• Ensures laundry and dishes are clean.
• Other duties as assigned by Training & Enrichment Lead or Manager

Dog Handling

• Walks dogs according to skill set, provides enrichment for sanctuary dogs.
• Feeds specific dogs based on approval from Training & Enrichment staff and according to CRCCS’ structured feeding routine.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.50 - $16.50 per hour
