We're looking for an Editor to join our team in New York as part of our Content function.
Your Role: You will be the figurehead of WARC’s flagship service in the Americas. You will develop the content plan in the region for WARC Strategy, managing a team of two to deliver on that plan and grow the business. This is an exciting role: you will be the face of WARC in the Americas and represent the business, speaking at industry events, and appearing on our podcast. This regional role is based in WARC’s New York office, which will likely be hybrid with some in-office and some remote working
You and your team will shape our Americas content agenda, developing a program of high-quality content about marketing effectiveness, brand strategy and tech and consumer trends in the Americas. You will work with stakeholders across the industry, and build and nurture strategic partnerships with relevant organizations within the marketing community in the Americas.
Our clients are industry experts – senior agency figures, brand marketers and media owners - who expect WARC content to offer unique insights that help build effective strategies, and grow their business. You will have a deep understanding of cultural, economic, consumer and tech trends and how they impact marketing across North and South America. You will also bring insights and trends from the market into our global content agenda.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the content agenda in the Americas, managing a team of two to execute the quarterly Spotlight series, and regular content flow.
  • Identify the marketing topics and work with the subject experts that will help grow WARC’s brand fame in the Americas and throughout the region, and reinforce our credible and trusted positioning.
  • Identify current and emerging industry trends, and commission high-quality content in response.
  • Have a high-quality and diverse network within the marketing and advertising community to tap for i.e. writing, podcasts and interviews.
  • Identify, develop and nurture partnerships with key organizations within the advertising, marketing and research community.
  • As a team player, you will work collaboratively with other parts of the content team, and multiple external departments, including the client services, commercial and marketing teams,
  • Comfortable presenting on WARC’s behalf at conferences, on podcasts and webinars.
  • Work collaboratively across geographies, cultures and time zones and play a key role in global editorial projects such as the WARC Guide.
  • Help grow the number of Americas entrants to the WARC Awards for Effectiveness (Global edition and North America edition).
  • Have lots of creative ideas to develop potential new content formats and boost audience engagement.
  • You will need to show you have your finger on the pulse of what matters to marketers in the Americas.
Your Experience
  • Strong writing and editing skills are essential. Applicants will be required to submit a portfolio of published work and do a writing test.
  • Significant experience in advertising, marketing, strategy or related fields, or in B2B journalism that focuses on some aspect of the marketing industry
  • Have an excellent and diverse network
  • Manage a team of two – an assistant editor, based in New York and a commissioning editor as well as managing freelancers
  • A flexible performer, comfortable handling multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously, and excited about the fast-moving nature of the marketing industry
  • A creative, tenacious, and highly organized self-starter
  • Budget management skills
