Waterloo Capital is a fast-growing, Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) committed to helping clients manage their long-term wealth. The firm provides clientele access to a suite of proprietary investment offerings, including public market portfolios and institutional-quality alternative investment offerings. Waterloo is based in Austin, TX and has offices in Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta.
Position Description:
Waterloo is looking to hire an analyst to support the Director of Alternative Investments to augment the firm’s external manager due diligence capabilities. The individual will also be exposed to other mission critical projects of the organization. This will be a highly visible position and critical to the success of the organization and its growth. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with others in the organization to provide high-quality, timely, and complete responses to our clients and advisors. The individual will be expected to have strong writing skills and must possess the ability to present to clients and advisory partners.
Responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day activities of the Director of Alternative Investments
- Coordinate and manage investment research and evaluate new alternative investment offerings (e.g. private equity, venture capital, private credit, real estate, and hedge fund strategies)
- Write due diligence memorandums detailing investment research recommending new strategies
- Communicate investment strategies to current and prospective clients, and internal firm advisors
- Maintain and update the firm’s research database and fund accounting
- Assist in preparing presentation materials for meetings with clients and prospects
- Assist in the firm’s Advisor Support services as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3-5 years of experience in alternative investment research preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Holds or plans to pursue CAIA or CFA designation
- FINRA Series 65 license (or completion of exam within 90 days of employment)
- Familiarity with Charles Schwab, TD Ameritrade and/or Fidelity Investments preferred
- Detail-oriented, organized, proactive, problem solver
- Able to work equally well in a team environment and independently
- Strong time-management skills; Self-starter who can complete multiple projects within set deadlines
Pay will be competitive commensurate with candidate experience.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
