Job Overview:
Responsible for managing all aspects of operations and overseeing policies and functions in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and supervising all employees on the shift. Provides recommendations to Senior Management in establishing overall objectives, policies and plans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but not limited to:
  • Effectively supervises personnel ensuring optimal performance in planning department
  • Provides leadership to staff throughout effective objective, setting delegation and communication. Conduct staff meeting as required
  • Manage the day-to-day operations with primary responsibility for aircraft dispatch and planning, scheduling/staffing, managing daily budgeted hours, payroll and overtime of the operation
  • Communicating with the next shift's leaders regarding aircraft turnovers details
  • Ensures that personnel are well trained effectively and optimally. Instructs personnel regarding policy, procedures, and program changes
  • Formulates and implements corrective actions as needed
  • Ensures that staffing levels are appropriate
  • Ensures that employees questions and /or problems are promptly and courteously resolved
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination between client and company standards
  • Acts as company representative ensuring that the quality of service delivered meets or exceeds the expected clients’ and company’s standards
  • Complete related reports accurately and timely
  • Ensures hours schedule and worked match the flights and clients’
  • Assures the planners work in conjunction with other departments to ensure on-time performance of flights
  • Ensures compliance with all security requirements of air carriers
  • Ensures that all flights are properly assigned with proper crew via our GHDS system
  • Be proficient with all technology available to communicate with the airline (Connect me, Saber, and Cabin Appearance)
  • Report all services provided to the aircraft for billing and cost purposes
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s preferred, but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skill)
  • At least 3 years of airline or airport experience
Skills and abilities
  • Ability to speak and understand Spanish / English
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand the documented processes and procedures needed
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement under a dynamic environment
  • Excellent writing and communication skills including interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities
  • Strong self-organization and self-management skills, with emphasis on self-initiation and follow through
  • Requires flexibility to work additional hours beyond the regular shift, on short notice, and as needed during irregular operations.
  • Must be able to obtain a SIDA Badge from the airport
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
