Job description

Respond to distributor/customer telephone inquiries and enter orders. Work with distributors/customers to resolve questions or issues. Assist with the coordination of all activities within the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers via phone and e-mail. Process parts orders, coordinate shipments and act as a technical resource to Belanger distributors and their customers.
  • Utilize the ERP computer system to look up parts, process orders, review customer accounts, etc.
  • Interact effectively with Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing and the Manager-Technical Service & Parts Sales to ensure parts are available and costing is correct.
  • Interact effectively with Technical Services to ensure the correct parts are ordered and shipped.
  • Work with distributors/customers to track UPS shipments, investigate order discrepancies, or order changes
  • Work with others in the department to process warranty orders, payment, and invoices
  • Maintain a clean and neat work area.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience, preferably in customer service or data entry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency in a Windows environment is required, proficiency with any ERP or related manufacturing software preferred
  • Must possess professional telephone etiquette and skills.
  • Must be able to work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • The ability to work effectively with others in a team environment is required.
  • Must possess the ability to follow written instructions.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Mechanical aptitude is preferred to facilitate the understanding of the component structure of the environment.
  • Previous customer service or parts room experience.
