The University of Iowa’s Division of Sponsored Programs (https://dsp.research.uiowa.edu/) (DSP) is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented person to support the daily administrative operations of the department.
Duties to include:
Administrative duties to support DSP office operations:
- Schedule meetings
- Manage travel arrangements for staff
- Coordinate special events and activities
- Initiate purchasing requests for supplies and equipment
Job duties to support campus research administration:
A number of these duties require using our internal DSP system, other UI systems, and external systems. DSP will train you on how to use these systems.
- Follow up on agreements pending signatures
- Enter NIH project numbers in eDSP system
- Connect eDSP records with HawkIRB and eIACUC system records
- Monitor the HawkIRB UI Funding Page
- Create eRA Commons accounts for campus users
- Approve NSF accounts for campus users
- Create and manage Cayuse accounts for campus users
- Monitor NIH not funded report and update eDSP records accordingly
- Ensure data quality in UIRIS system (monthly processes):
- Other duties as assigned
The Division of Sponsored Programs is the office that facilitates the submission of research proposals, negotiation of award agreements, and management of non-financial post-award actions, including the issuance of subawards, for the University of Iowa. Percent Time/Hours/Schedule: Full-time;flexible start date, 40 hours/week (willing to consider 80% for the right candidate (equivalent to 4 days per week), 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday
Closed on University holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday following Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and an additional day near Christmas designated in the official University calendar
Location: University of Iowa Campus Gilmore Hall or Remote
Pay:$15/hour
Required Qualifications
- Proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Qualifications
- Administrative experience.
- Customer service experience.
