ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT…

The Project & Facilities Management Department (PFMD) is a multi-disciplined department of professionals providing San Bernardino County with comprehensive building and facilities services. The department builds and maintains the majority of the County's vast infrastructure, which includes over 250 facilities. Several key departments served include Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, Fire District, Sheriff, Probation, Regional Parks, County Administrative Offices, Library, Museum, and many more!

The Project Management team is committed to the timely and cost-effective design and construction of projects included in the County's annual Capital Improvement Program. Additionally, the team provides quality improvements to ensure acceptable and safe environments for County departments and the public they serve. Projects range from horizontal to vertical construction, including unique projects such as our Park & Recreation facilities and the County's Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

The Project Management team are forward thinkers, seeking innovative solutions to improve processes, deliver quality services, and develop meaningful relationships with customers. Additionally, the team are hands-on, independent, and self-motivating, preparing bid packages and advertisements for procurement, negotiating, and administering contracts for design and construction, and providing inspection and construction project management services from concept through occupancy.

ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT…

  • PFMD is creating an interactive project dashboard that will provide various project metrics for our portfolio of capital improvement projects at the ‘touch of a button’.
  • The assignment involves collecting data from PFMD personnel and organizing that data within a digital location, per the direction of the assignment’s lead.
  • The candidate will reach out to project managers and supervisors, scheduling meetings as required, to collect all data pertaining to the portfolio of projects.
  • Immediate need to fill; work assignment can start as early as 4/3/23, but no later than 4/17/23.
  • The assignment is a minimum 1.5 months with possibility of extended assignment depending on performance.

  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • A ‘people person’ that can independently reach out to staff of all levels to collaborate and gather information.
  • Determined - able to follow a schedule and set progress goals for themselves.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with understanding of applications such as SharePoint, MS Project, and Office Suite.
