Job description
Summary:
The adjunct Information Technology Faculty will support the College’s mission by facilitating a classroom environment that provides a foundation of class work and hands-on experiences with network systems, business technology systems, and the security procedures and technologies used to secure those systems.
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction (i.e. to teach all aspects of Information Technology related to networking and security)
- All Security Courses require a current, relevant security certification.
Skills and Experience:
- Required: Master degree in field preferred OR Master Degree in related field if Bachelor Degree is in field.
- CCNA/Security+ Certifications and COMP TIA A+ 220-901 and 220-902 Certification Date after 12/15/15, COMP TIA Network+ N10-006 Required Certification Date after 2/28/15, COMP TIA Security+ SY0-401 Certification date on or after 5/1/14.
- Experience in teaching at the collegiate level is desired.
- Possess excellent networking and security skills to support the technology program and translate those skills into the classroom.
- Workplace experience in the following areas preferred:
- Networking and computer security
- Hardening networks to resist attacks
- Protecting communications
- Using cryptography and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to thwart attacks
- Possess and exhibit qualities of professionalism, integrity, self-esteem, self-motivation, and a strong desire to guide students to improve their career prospects.
- Ability to work within a team.
