Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk. A successful candidate for this position will be ready to enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. Candidates who are self-starters and who have high attention to detail will be the best fit for this Accounts Receivable Clerk position. This is a contract to hire Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Santa Barbara, California area.Your responsibilities
- Promote, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Confirm documents and codes
- Review status of delinquent accounts daily and initiate collection action by contacting customers
- Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in various ledgers
- Carry out an assortment of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks
- Sort out payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP
- Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans
- Cash applications experience
- Deep understanding of VLOOKUP's
- Knowledge of Pivot Table
- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
- Proven knowledge of collections
- NetSuite experience desired
- Proficient in ERP systems
- General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired
- Strong analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
- Strong attention to detail
