General Overview:
The Accounts Payable Clerk is a key supporting role to the accounting department. This position is responsible for managing the flow of Accounts Payable and processing of invoices from our vendors. To a lesser extent the position will help support the Operations team and Controller in various transactional items.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing the flow of Accounts Payable
- Acquiring approval to pay invoices from the organization.
- Processing and payment of invoice from vendors via either our outside accounting firm, using credit card payments or manual checks written in the office.
- Setting up new vendors and designating their type of payment method ( our outside accounting firm, credit card payments, ACH or manual check)
- Support the monthly close; specifically, credit card reconciliation, credit card reporting to our outside accounting firm and providing support for items processed through Accounts Payable
- Answers Accounts Payable questions from the broader organization and vendors using supporting documentation and our accounting software.
- Support the Operations team and Controller with various transactional and clerical tasks.
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Minimum High School diploma; AA degree a plus
- Minimum 2 years of Accounts Payable experience
- Experience in using credit cards as a payment method in an Accounts Payable environment a plus.
- General proficiency in Microsoft excel and word
- Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus
- General accounting exposure a plus
- Quick Serve Restaurant exposure a plus
