Summary of Position:

Fortune Fish & Gourmet is looking to hire an Accounts Payable Clerk to join the Bensenville team! The Accounts Payable Clerk responsibilities are to managethe AP process, processing invoices received for payment in a timely and accurate manner, entering journal entries, performing account reconciliations and other tasks assign by the AP Manager. The AP Clerk is responsible to ensure adherence to company polices as it relates to the Accounts Payable and Accounting functions.

Responsibilities

· Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment

· Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures

· Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data

· Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are being accounted and properly posted

· Verify and investigate discrepancies if any by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements

· Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients

· Generate reports detailing accounts payable status

· Assists corporate financial officers and location personnel as necessary

· Assists in monthly closings

· Perform filing and copying

Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Requirements:

· Education – Associates Degree or equivalent

· Proven work experience in accounts payable – at least two years of relevant accounts payable/accounting experience

· Work ethic – A sense of urgency in meeting critical and time sensitive deadlines with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

· Technical: Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with an ERP system a plus, data entry skills along with a knack for numbers

Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills required to function within the accounting team.
